Soneri Bank Limited, one of Pakistan’s leading financial institutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Euronet Pakistan, a division of NASDAQ-listed Euronet Worldwide and a global leader in secure electronic transaction processing. The collaboration is set to transform Soneri Bank’s credit card and acquiring business, providing a fully managed and outsourced services model that aligns with the Bank’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives.
Through this partnership, Euronet Pakistan will deliver an end-to-end card and payments platform, supporting credit card issuance and point-of-sale (POS) acquiring. The platform is designed with future-ready capabilities, enabling Soneri Bank to expand its broader digital payments ecosystem. Hosted on Euronet’s PCI DSS-compliant infrastructure at state-of-the-art data centers in Pakistan, the solution promises high availability, guaranteed service levels, and robust data security that meets global standards.
The agreement also includes advanced services such as tokenization and Google Pay enablement, allowing Soneri Bank to provide customers with secure, contactless payment options. These capabilities aim to create a seamless omnichannel payment experience across digital and physical touchpoints, reinforcing the Bank’s position as a pioneer in Pakistan’s evolving banking sector.
By leveraging Euronet’s managed services model, Soneri Bank will gain agility in launching new products, reduce operational complexity, and improve scalability. This arrangement allows the Bank to concentrate on customer-centric innovation while Euronet manages the underlying technological infrastructure and operational processes.
The signing ceremony brought together senior leadership from both organizations. Representing Soneri Bank were CEO Muhtashim Ashai, DCEO Ahsan Mushahid, CIO Muhammad Salman, and CD&IO Syed Amir Raza. Euronet Pakistan was represented by CEO Kashif Gaya, Head of Development and Operations Dawer Khan, and Head of Business Development Faisal Amin.
