In a major step toward advancing financial inclusion and digitizing payroll solutions in Pakistan, Konnect by HBL has formed a strategic partnership with the Pathfinder Group. This collaboration will facilitate seamless salary disbursements for employees of two of the country’s leading private security firms—Wackenhut Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. and SMS Security & Management Services.
This initiative reflects the growing emphasis on digitized financial services in the country, especially for traditionally underserved segments such as security personnel. By leveraging the digital capabilities of Konnect by HBL and integrating them with Pathfinder Group’s workforce network, the partnership aims to provide thousands of employees with reliable, efficient, and transparent salary payments.
The salary disbursement will be conducted through the Asaan Mobile Account and Konnect’s widespread agent network across Pakistan. This ensures that employees, many of whom may not have access to traditional banking services, can receive their wages conveniently and securely. The initiative also helps reduce the risks and inefficiencies associated with manual payroll systems, such as delays and lack of transparency.
The official signing ceremony brought together key leadership figures from all partner organizations. Among the attendees were Armughan Ahmed Kausar, Head Konnect & Mass Segment at HBL; Agha Israr Ahmed, Head of Sales & Distribution at Konnect – HBL; Jahangir Javed, Chief Operating Officer at Wackenhut Pakistan; Muhammad Salman Ali, CEO of VRG; and other senior representatives from the involved institutions. Their presence at the event highlighted the importance of the collaboration and the shared vision of driving financial accessibility.
This partnership exemplifies HBL’s ongoing commitment to innovation and financial inclusion through its digital arm, Konnect. By enabling secure salary disbursements through digital channels, Konnect not only simplifies payroll processes but also helps integrate more individuals into the formal financial system. Employees receiving payments through the Asaan Mobile Account will also have the opportunity to access other digital financial services, such as bill payments, mobile top-ups, and transfers, further enhancing their financial independence.
Wackenhut Pakistan and SMS Security & Management Services, both known for their vast network of security personnel, stand to benefit from streamlined payment operations and better financial transparency for their employees. At the same time, Konnect strengthens its position as a key enabler of digital banking services that bridge the gap between traditional financial institutions and underbanked populations.
The collaboration between Konnect by HBL and Pathfinder Group is a testament to the growing role of fintech solutions in solving real-world problems across industries. By digitizing salary disbursements and increasing financial accessibility for security staff across Pakistan, the partnership sets a strong example of how technology and finance can work hand in hand to build a more inclusive economy.
