The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA Pakistan) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SysTech AI (Pvt.) Ltd. to expand digital learning opportunities and develop artificial intelligence skills among students and finance professionals. The agreement was signed on October 15, 2026, by Muhammad Yasin FCMA, President of ICMA Pakistan, on behalf of the institute. Muhammad Naveed Shahzad, Director of Education and Technology at SysTech AI, signed the agreement for the company. The partnership focuses on education, professional development, capacity building, and the use of AI in business and financial functions.
Under the agreement, ICMA Pakistan plans to enhance its digital learning capabilities and provide students and professionals with access to scalable, industry-relevant education in Generative AI and business productivity. The collaboration will support structured online learning, practical applications of AI, responsible technology adoption, and performance analytics. It also aims to extend access to relevant learning opportunities nationwide, helping accounting and finance professionals develop skills aligned with changing workplace requirements.
The partnership will focus on applications of AI across several areas of finance and accounting, including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, auditing, and financial reporting. These functions increasingly involve data processing, analysis, and the preparation of information for business decisions. Training in AI tools could help professionals understand how such technologies can be applied to routine tasks while maintaining appropriate oversight and accountability. The emphasis on responsible adoption is also relevant as organisations assess how to integrate AI into professional workflows and protect the quality of financial information.
The MoU signing was witnessed by Abdul Qayyum, Vice President of ICMA Pakistan, and Kamran Jamil, Director of Finance, Taxation and Advisory at SysTech AI. The agreement reflects a collaboration between a professional accounting body and an AI-focused company to connect professional education with emerging technology requirements. By incorporating Generative AI and business productivity into learning initiatives, the two organisations intend to help students and working professionals prepare for evolving responsibilities across finance, accounting, and related business functions. The announcement did not specify a rollout schedule or detailed course offerings.
