Faysal Bank Limited is set to conduct financial awareness and account opening sessions across its branches in Sukkur on October 7 and 8, 2026, as part of the National Financial Literacy initiative. The sessions will be open to members of the general public and will provide information about Shariah-compliant banking and the process of opening a bank account. According to the bank’s announcement, the sessions will begin from 3:00 PM onwards at Faysal Bank branches across Sukkur, with customers and other interested members of the public advised to contact their nearest branch to confirm the specific day and timing. The initiative forms part of Faysal Bank’s wider participation in the National Financial Literacy Program, which was launched by the State Bank of Pakistan to promote financial awareness and improve access to formal financial services. Faysal Bank has maintained a dedicated National Financial Literacy Program initiative and says its activities include classroom training and community outreach focused on areas such as budgeting, savings and investments.
The upcoming Sukkur sessions will place particular emphasis on Shariah-compliant banking, reflecting Faysal Bank’s Islamic banking operations and its focus on providing financial products aligned with Islamic principles. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about banking services while also receiving guidance on account opening requirements and procedures. Financial literacy initiatives can help individuals better understand how formal banking services work and how different financial products can be used for everyday financial management. Faysal Bank has previously conducted similar awareness activities in Sukkur, including sessions focused on Islamic banking and Shariah-compliant financial solutions. The bank’s participation in the National Financial Literacy Program is part of its broader outreach efforts under the programme’s second phase, which covers the 2023–2027 period.
Faysal Bank’s National Financial Literacy Program activities have expanded over recent years. The bank states that it reached around 3,000 individuals across nine districts during 2023 and expanded its coverage to 15 districts and around 4,000 participants in 2024. In 2025, the programme reached more than 5,000 individuals across 16 districts. For 2026, Faysal Bank has planned nationwide outreach with a target of reaching 60,000 individuals, while also aiming for 50% female participation. The bank says its financial literacy efforts are intended to address barriers to financial inclusion by combining financial education with access to Shariah-compliant banking solutions. The Sukkur sessions therefore form part of a wider programme rather than being a standalone banking promotion, giving members of the public an opportunity to learn about financial services directly through bank branches.
Faysal Bank has also reminded customers and members of the public about the State Bank of Pakistan’s Sunwai customer complaint service. SBP introduced Sunwai as a portal and mobile application through which customers can lodge complaints concerning banks, microfinance banks and development finance institutions. The service is available through a web portal and mobile applications, while complaints can be tracked through a unique reference number. SBP has also instructed financial institutions to create awareness about the service among customers. Faysal Bank included information about Sunwai alongside its Sukkur financial literacy announcement, giving participants another resource for understanding their rights and avenues for raising banking-related complaints. The combination of financial awareness, account-opening guidance and information about customer complaint mechanisms reflects the broader role of financial literacy in helping consumers interact with formal banking services.
