Asaan Ghar Finance and BankIslami Partner to Expand Shariah-Compliant Housing Finance Across Pakistan

Asaan Ghar Finance Limited has entered into a strategic collaboration with BankIslami Pakistan Limited through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at supporting the Ghar Ho To Apna programme and expanding access to Shariah-compliant housing finance across Pakistan. The agreement brings together Asaan Ghar Finance’s focus on housing finance and BankIslami’s Islamic banking capabilities, with the partnership intended to address the demand for affordable and Shariah-compliant home financing. The development was announced by Asaan Ghar Finance and highlighted by the National Incubation Center Karachi, which identified the company as a startup from NIC Karachi Cohort 13. The collaboration reflects growing activity around Islamic financial solutions for housing, where customers seeking home ownership can access financing structures designed around Shariah principles. Through the MoU, both institutions will work together in support of the housing initiative while exploring ways to make financing more accessible to families across different parts of the country.

According to the announcement, the partnership will support the Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Programme, also referred to as “Ghar Ho To Apna,” by widening access to Shariah-compliant home financing. Housing finance remains an important segment of the financial services market, particularly for households that prefer Islamic financing structures when purchasing or building residential property. BankIslami brings its experience as an Islamic banking institution to the collaboration, while Asaan Ghar Finance is focused specifically on housing finance solutions. The companies said the partnership is intended to combine these areas of focus to serve customers seeking financing for their housing needs. Rather than representing a single product announcement, the MoU establishes a framework for collaboration between the two institutions and links their efforts with the broader housing programme. The initiative could also create additional channels through which eligible customers can explore Shariah-compliant financing options as the partners work on implementing the objectives of their agreement.

The collaboration also highlights the role of financial institutions and specialized housing finance companies in expanding access to home ownership solutions. Islamic banking has become an established part of Pakistan’s financial sector, offering products structured around Shariah principles across areas including deposits, consumer finance, business financing and housing. Within this environment, housing finance represents an area where customers may seek alternatives to conventional interest-based financing. Asaan Ghar Finance’s involvement provides a dedicated housing finance focus, while BankIslami contributes its Islamic banking platform and sector experience. The companies have described the partnership as an effort to serve the need for affordable and ethical housing finance, with the MoU providing a basis for joint work under the Ghar Ho To Apna programme. The initiative may also contribute to broader financial participation by connecting housing-related financing needs with formal financial institutions and structured Islamic finance solutions.

The agreement comes as Pakistan’s financial sector continues to develop products and partnerships aimed at meeting different customer requirements through formal banking and finance channels. For Asaan Ghar Finance, the collaboration with BankIslami marks another step in the growth of its housing finance operations following its participation in the NIC Karachi incubation programme. For BankIslami, the partnership provides an opportunity to work with a specialized housing finance company on solutions aligned with Islamic banking principles. Both institutions are expected to work together on the objectives outlined in the MoU, including support for the Ghar Ho To Apna programme and wider availability of Shariah-compliant housing finance. While the announcement does not provide specific figures for financing volumes, customer targets or disbursement timelines, it establishes a collaborative framework focused on housing finance and access to Islamic financial solutions across Pakistan.
