ABHI Microfinance Bank has launched its DIY (Do It Yourself) Banking initiative, marking a major step in the digitisation of its branch network. The new model introduces self-service banking solutions designed to give customers greater control over everyday transactions while making banking faster, simpler and more convenient.
The new branch ecosystem brings together ABHI ATMs, Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs) and Self-Service Kiosks, allowing customers to complete supported banking activities independently. The bank has also introduced instant card printing, enabling customers to receive their cards immediately through the self-service infrastructure.
ABHI said the initiative is designed to reduce customers’ reliance on traditional counter-based banking. By introducing dedicated digital touchpoints within branches, customers can access supported services independently, potentially reducing waiting times while providing greater flexibility in managing routine financial transactions.
The launch represents the beginning of a broader transformation of ABHI’s branch network rather than simply the installation of new machines. The bank is combining digital technology, self-service infrastructure and traditional branch touchpoints to create a more technology-driven customer experience across its physical network.
The initiative forms part of ABHI Microfinance Bank’s wider strategy to develop a digital-first banking model. The bank is pursuing digital interventions across its operating model, customer experience, products and technology infrastructure, with the latest DIY Banking rollout bringing these efforts directly into its branch network.
