SECP Talk Series Explores Future Of Islamic Finance Halal Economy And Ethical Investment Globally

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) is continuing its Talk Series with a session focused on the future of Islamic finance and its growing relevance to the global financial ecosystem. The session features H.E. Yousuf Hassan Khalawi, Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), who will share perspectives on Islamic finance, the halal economy, sustainable development and ethical investment.

The discussion is set to examine Islamic finance from both Pakistan and international perspectives, highlighting how Shariah-compliant financial principles can contribute to responsible investment and sustainable economic development. With Islamic finance becoming an increasingly important segment of the global financial system, the session will provide an opportunity to explore emerging trends and opportunities across the sector.

Yousuf Hassan Khalawi brings expertise in Islamic economy, governance, investment, family businesses and organisational development to the session. His participation is expected to provide insights into the relationship between Islamic financial principles, ethical investment and broader economic development, while also highlighting the role of the halal economy in creating new opportunities for businesses and investors.

The SECP Talk Series continues to provide a platform for discussions around developments shaping Pakistan’s financial and capital markets. By bringing international experts and industry leaders into these conversations, the initiative encourages greater awareness of evolving financial models and their potential applications within Pakistan and beyond.

The upcoming session will also focus on sustainable development and ethical investment, areas that are increasingly connected with discussions around the future of finance. The SECP’s latest session reflects the growing attention being given to Islamic finance as part of wider conversations about responsible investment, sustainable economic activity and the development of an inclusive financial ecosystem.
